(ANS – Chiari) – On 12 April 2026, the Salesian San Bernardino school in Chiari reaffirmed its status as the capital of Salesian youth for the Lombardy-Emilia Italy (ILE) province, hosting over a thousand pre-teens from the two Italian regions for DL Day 2026. The event, entitled “Seekers of Light”, celebrated the 150th anniversary of the first Salesian missions with an impressive set design in the shape of a sailing ship, a symbol of journey and courage. It all began on Saturday 11 April with extensive preparations involving the SFA animators and the DBA service of the Arese oratory, who organised an exciting setting, engaging games, a prayer vigil and a typical Salesian evening. 12 April was marked by thrilling challenges among the participants and the coveted treasure hunt, won by the Parma house. During the Eucharistic celebration, the ILE Provincial, Fr Roberto dal Molin, extended a special greeting to Sister Paola Battagliola, Visiting Councillor of the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians. In his homily, Fr Dal Molin gave the young people three key words: “Joy, forgiveness and peace”. These, according to the Provincial, are the fundamental ingredients for being true “seekers of light” and peacemakers in today’s world.
