Italy – The President of the Veneto Region and the Regional Councillor for Education, Formation, Skills and Culture visit the Salesians of Don Bosco Mestre Educational Centre

(ANS – Mestre) – On 6 May 2026, over 800 students and teachers from the San Marco Vocational Training School and Technical and Technological Institute welcomed the President of the Veneto Region, Alberto Stefani, and the Regional Councillor for Education, Formation, Skills and Culture, Valeria Mantovan, on a visit to the Salesians of Don Bosco – Mestre Educational Centre. The morning included an institutional meeting with the students and a tour of the school’s mechanical, electrical and graphic design workshops, led by Alberto Grillai, Chief Executive of the Salesiani per la Formazione Professionale INE Foundation, and Matteo Roncarà, President of Forma Veneto, an association that has brought together the region’s main vocational education and training bodies, including the Salesian system, since its inception. President Stefani reiterated the strategic importance of vocational formation for the future of Veneto and the region’s commitment, which invests €110 million annually to train young people who are well-prepared and ready to enter the world of work. During the visit, Councillor Mantovan also confirmed her support. The visit also provided an opportunity for discussion on the role of the technical-vocational sector within the regional education system, consistently represented by the Salesians of Don Bosco Mestre educational centre.
