(ANS – Madrid) – On 6 and 7 June, the end-of-year meeting of the Regional Council was held at the Divina Pastora House in Madrid, attended by around 40 Salesian Cooperators from the Iberian Region. Convened by Borja Pérez, World Councillor for the Iberian Region until last May and now World Coordinator of the Association, the Council was attended by the region’s seven provincial coordinators, provincial delegates, several provincial councillors and members of the Regional Secretariat (SER). During the meeting, the SER’s annual report was presented; it was agreed to hold a Regional Congress on 7 and 8 November in Madrid, where a new World Councillor for the Region will be elected; a review was made of the experiences of the 6th World Congress and, after a moment of reflection, a group of participants in the Council joined Pope Leo XIV’s Vigil with over half a million young people on the streets of Madrid. The meeting concluded, following sessions of work and innovative proposals, with Mass presided over by Fr José Carlos Sobejano, Provincial of the Salesian Province of Spain’s St James the Greater (SSM).
