During his stay in the country, until 9 January, the Councillor will share time with Salesians, young people, and lay people who are part of Salesian houses and works, strengthening the educational and pastoral mission of the Province.
After arriving in Quito, he met with the Sierra Deployment volunteer group at the St Patrick Spirituality Centre. At this meeting, Fr Diego Rodríguez presented the volunteer work carried out in Ecuador, as well as future projects and expectations. The day ended with a Mass presided over by Fr Bejarano.
On Tuesday, January 6, Fr Bejarano began his activities with a meeting with the Provincial Council. He then met with the Salesian Social America Network (RASS) team and the Salesian Youth Ministry team. In the afternoon, he participated in a reflection session with the Councils of the Educative and Pastoral Communities of the Central-North region on the theme: ‘Pastoral Challenges of the Congregation’ at the Sala Cándido Rada of the UPS, El Girón campus. After this activity, he took part in the Youth Festival of the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) and the Oratories of the Central-North region.
On Wednesday, 7 January, the Councillor will travel to the city of Guayaquil, where he will meet with representatives of the Works and Social Services of Ecuador. This first part of the day will culminate with the Festival of the Salesian Youth Movement and Oratories, which will be held in the multipurpose hall of the Educativa Domingo Comín Unit.
In the afternoon, he will visit several Reference Centres, where he will spend time with children and young people who are part of the Salesian educational program.
On Thursday, 8 January, the Animation Visit will continue in the city of Cuenca, where he will meet with the leaders of the Salesian Polytechnic University (UPS) and give a conference on the challenges of Higher Education.
In the afternoon, he will meet with the Councils of the Educative and Pastoral Communities of the Southern Region and spend time with young people during the SYM and Oratory Festival.
Finally, on the last day of the visit, Fr Rafael Bejarano will meet with the lay directors of the Province of Ecuador.
