‘Missão Dom Bosco’ is mobilising concrete aid to respond to urgent needs and provide support in rebuilding the lives and homes affected by the storm.
The passage of Storm Kristin has left deep marks on several communities in the centre of the country. Damaged homes, lost essential goods and a sense of insecurity have marked the daily lives of many families, who now face the challenge of recovering what has been affected by the bad weather. Faced with this reality, ‘Missão Dom Bosco’ is joining forces with local communities to provide concrete and responsible support to the most vulnerable families, promoting a solidarity-based response focused on care, closeness and rebuilding with dignity.
The contributions collected as part of this campaign are intended to meet the needs identified in the field, in particular: replacement of lost essential goods, purchase of basic household items and food support in the most fragile situations.
To ensure transparency, closeness and direct impact, donations will be channelled through the Diocese of Leiria-Fátima, in collaboration with local structures that assist affected families and have first-hand knowledge of the situation on the ground.
‘Missão Dom Bosco’works daily to assist, educate and protect children, young people and families in situations of great vulnerability. In times of emergency, this commitment becomes even more urgent and translates into concrete gestures of solidarity, which help to rebuild not only homes but also hope.
