The opening ceremony will feature Esther Monterrubio, Secretary General for Vocational Training at the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport, who will discuss the status of the implementation of the new law.
The comprehensive programme will feature educators, psychologists, national and regional politicians, representatives of business organisations, entrepreneurs and senior business executives, who will share their vision and proposals on the history, present and future of vocational training in Spain, with a focus on the protagonists: young people.
The 2026 Vocational Training Congress seeks to achieve four objectives: To analyse vocational training in the current context. To reflect on the role of vocational training in the business world. To assess the role of students and teachers in the technical and human training of future company employees. To establish convergent strategies between vocational training centres, companies and public administrations.
Furthermore, the organisers consider this forum to be an exceptional space for educational centres, administrations and companies to come together, which is why there are three ways to participate: as sponsors, exhibitors or collaborators.
More than 200 people responsible for vocational training centres, company members, teachers and technicians are expected to participate. The aim is to make the VT 2026 Congress a place to encourage educational innovation, strengthen the relationship between the vocational training system and the productive fabric, and promote the employability of young people and professionals in training. For this reason, the Salesians believe it is essential to have as many companies, individuals and entities as possible that can contribute to achieving this objective.
‘Educating people, training professionals’ is not just a slogan for a one-off congress. It is the maxim of Salesian training for its vocational training centres.
