India – Celebrating the Salesian Mission Legacy

Fr. Pavel met with the Province Missionary Commission, led by Fr. Michael Bansode, Provincial Delegate for Missionary Animation, and offered a comprehensive and inspiring overview of global Salesian missionary activity. The interactive session that followed enabled commission members to share reflections, clarify questions, and explore concrete ways to strengthen missionary animation and volunteer engagement across the province.

Fr. Richard D’Silva, Rector of Don Bosco Savedi, welcomed Fr. Pavel as he presided at the parish Eucharistic celebration. At the conclusion of the Mass, Fr. Pavel released a booklet titled “Salesian Mission Legacy – Seminar Reflections,” a compilation of insights from the Salesian Mission Seminar held on November 11, 2025, at the Provincial House in Matunga. The first copies were presented to members of the Savedi community.

The booklet features two enriching talks delivered by Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil at the seminar, along with brief reflections on key missionary themes. Appreciated for their depth and relevance, the seminar presentations were compiled to reach a wider audience. The publication stands as a tribute to the rich missionary heritage of the Salesian Congregation and seeks to inspire renewed zeal, particularly within India’s increasingly complex social context. By promoting deeper reflection and awareness, it encourages every member of the Salesian Family to embrace their missionary vocation with conviction, courage, and hope.

The day concluded with a fraternal dinner hosted by the Salesian Community of Savedi, bringing together Salesians serving in the Ahmednagar region. The gathering marked a meaningful moment of unity, reflection, and renewed missionary commitment for the INB Province.
