India – The General Postulation strengthens Salesian Causes in North-East India

During the meetings key aspects were examined, such as the organisation and digitisation of archives, the collection and documentation of graces and alleged favours, the promotion of the reputation for holiness, and ecclesial collaboration with the dioceses involved.

During his stay in Shillong, Jowai, Mawpdang, Nonglakhiat, and Umsning, Fr Gabriel Cruz presided over Eucharistic celebrations, gave formative conferences on the meaning of the canonisation process and holiness in the Salesian Family, and held working sessions with provincial authorities and religious communities. In meetings with the Bishop of Jowai and the Archbishop of Shillong, the pastoral value of these Causes for the life of the local Church was highlighted, and the faithful were encouraged to intensify their prayers, especially asking for the intercession of the Servants of God and the Venerable, in order to progress on the path to their recognition.

The visit was also marked by moments of closeness with communities, seminarians, young people and lay people, who participated through testimonies, moments of welcome and opportunities for dialogue and clarification on the process. With this presence, the General Postulation, led by the Postulator General Fr Pierluigi Cameroni, renews its commitment to accompany and support the spiritual and pastoral animation around these Causes, promoting devotion, grateful memory and witness of holiness in North-East India.
