Colombia – Don Bosco Tech Official launch of: technical and vocational formation with a strong social impact

The initiative took place against a difficult national backdrop for young people. According to the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE), between December 2025 and February 2026, approximately 2.67 million young people in Colombia were neither studying nor working, highlighting a reality that challenges society.

Faced with this situation, the Salesian mission, with over 100 years of experience, works tirelessly to provide technical and vocational formation as a concrete response to alleviate these circumstances and to promote real opportunities for human development. In this sense, Don Bosco Tech reaffirms and renews the Salesian commitment to offering relevant formation, connected to the needs of the local context and focused on the dignity of work and the transformation of young people’s lives.

The launch day of Don Bosco Tech in Colombia was marked by significant moments that reflected the Salesian spirit: it began with a video testimony from some students, followed by a tribute to the strategic partners who have strengthened this educational mission. In addition, a symbolic signing ceremony to unify the brand was carried out by the Heads and Directors of the seven centres involved, thus highlighting the unity and shared momentum of this initiative.

The event continued with a culinary experience led by students from the kitchen assistant vocational training courses at Don Bosco Tech – Ciudad Don Bosco Campus in Medellín, who served a variety of dishes showcasing their training.

At the same time, this experience was made possible thanks to the work of students from the event management course at the Pedro Justo Berrío Salesian Institute. Guided by their formators, they were the true architects of the launch.

Inspired by the charism of Don Bosco, this initiative continues to focus on an education that not only trains for work but also provides holistic support for the individual, helping them to take charge of their own future and become agents of change in society.
