RMG – Br Karol Stefan Domagała, SDB: the first Brother appointed Rector in the PLE Province

Every year, personnel changes take place in Salesian works: first, superiors whose term of office is coming to an end are replaced, and in subsequent phases other Salesians as well, where necessary for pastoral reasons. This has also taken place this year, with one particular feature: for the first time in the Warsaw Province, a Salesian brother has been appointed Rector. We would like to briefly introduce the figure of the Brother Karol Stefan Domagała.

Br Domagała is a Salesian, psychologist and psychotherapist. Born in Łódź on 21 May 1979, he took his first religious vows in Czerwińsk nad Wisłą on 22 August 2004. Virtually his entire religious life to date has been dedicated to working with young people at risk of social exclusion at the Salesian Educational Centre and the Sociotherapy Centre in Różanystok.

He also runs a Crisis Intervention Centre, provides individual and couples psychotherapy; holds workshops and lectures for parents, teachers, educators, pedagogues and psychologists on working with young people; and is the author of the book “Nastolatkowie – Jak wychować i nie zwariować” (Adolescents – How to raise them without going mad).

From 1 September 2026, he will take up the post of Rector of the religious community dedicated to the Five Blessed Young Martyrs of Poznań in Różanystok, where the two centres mentioned above are based.

“Congratulations and best wishes for abundant divine graces, with the protection of St John Bosco for every day of your term of office” is what his confreres, priests and brothers of the PLE conveyed to him.
