The gathering is part of the international research project “Rethinking Salesian Education,” launched by the Salesian General Department for Youth Ministry. The project aims to synthesize practical insights from educators – both religious and lay – across various provinces, contributing to the renewal of the Salesian educational mission worldwide.
The meeting welcomed 13 delegates actively involved in diverse educational settings, including Technical and Vocational Training Centers, Social Service Works (SSW), boarding houses, literacy programs, oratories, and formation houses. Participants included priests, brothers, teachers, Salesian Cooperators (ASC), and members of the Volunteers of Don Bosco (VDB).
The program began with a solemn prayer service, invoking the Holy Spirit for the grace of listening, dialogue, and discernment. Fr. Peter Nguyen Viet Quang Minh, SDB, the Provincial Delegate for Youth Ministry, presented the objectives and vision for the day.
As the moderator, Fr. Peter skillfully fostered an atmosphere of openness and mutual trust, encouraging members to share freely. The meeting was not a top-down training session but a precious opportunity for educators to “re-read” and reflect on their daily practices. By remaining faithful to the goals and maintaining a spirit of deep listening, the session gathered vibrant experiences and revitalized the passion of each individual in accompanying today’s young people.
The program concluded at 12:00 PM with a fraternal lunch, embodying the Salesian Family spirit.
