After the final morning session, in the afternoon the delegates gathered in the classroom under the guidance of Fr Rafael Bejarano, General Councillor for Youth Ministry, who led the closing session, inviting them to reflect on the journey they had undertaken and to draw on its fruits for their service in the provinces.
Following the introductory remarks, psychologists Monica Ronchi and Antonella Sinagoga led the evaluation using an online form, offering participants the opportunity to express their experiences in a structured manner. The responses collected revealed a largely positive appreciation of the training experience, with particular reference to the achievement of objectives, the relevance of the content, and its practical usefulness for pastoral animation in various contexts.
Among the most highly valued aspects were the fraternal and international atmosphere, the quality of the support offered by the team, the richness of the exchange between delegates from different contexts, and the opportunity to explore the tools, criteria and processes specific to Salesian youth ministry. The community dimension of the experience was also of great significance, experienced as a space for communion, shared responsibility and growth in the Salesian charism.
Alongside an overall very positive assessment, some suggestions for the future also emerged, particularly regarding time management, the daily schedule and the translation service, with the aim of fostering an even fuller and more in-depth participation.
The evaluation session was further enriched by spontaneous contributions from the participants, who expressed their gratitude to the organising team and, in particular, to Fr Bejarano, for the opportunity provided and for the care taken to foster an ever deeper understanding of the Salesian Youth Ministry Frame of Reference and its practical application in the provinces.
At the end of the evaluation, Fr Bejarano took the floor for his closing remarks, thanking the participants, the members of the central team of the Youth Ministry Sector, and all those who, through their service at Salesian Central Headquarters, had contributed to the realisation of the School.
The day concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist, the culminating moment of thanksgiving for the journey undertaken. Following this, Fr Bejarano shared a video message in Spanish in which he expressed his feelings of gratitude and emphasised the value of this time as an opportunity for grace and preparation for the good of young people in Salesian works throughout the world.
This celebration brings to a close an intensive formation programme, which has strengthened the delegates’ awareness of their service and their commitment to promoting a youth ministry that is increasingly integrated, planned and shared.
