The General Assembly of Members, convened in Rome on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June, confirmed Jennifer Avakian on the Foundation’s Board of Directors and appointed Adriano Isoardi as a new director.
Francesco Mele is stepping down from his post. “The whole of VIS would like to express its heartfelt thanks to Francesco Mele,” said Michela Vallarino, “for bringing to VIS over the years his expertise and practical experience gained at the VIS Pangea regional office in Salerno. We welcome Adriano Isoardi to the Board of Directors, who has worked tirelessly to promote the campaign in support of schools in Palestine across the Piedmont region; his expertise will now be invaluable to VIS in developing activities in other regions as well.”
The General Assembly, in addition to providing a general update on the Foundation’s status, objectives, activities and ongoing programmes, was also an opportunity to continue the process of actively involving the various stakeholders, initiated with the new Regulations on Participation. The meeting was also an opportunity to welcome the new Participating Members and engage in a session of reflection and sharing in which the Participants were able to express the aspects that had struck them, their concerns, hopes and proposals for the future, also in light of the recent transformation into a foundation.
