Chile – The Salesian-Laity Formation Cycle 2026 started

The first day was in charge of the Salesian priest P. Claudio Cartes, who presented the keys to reading the 29th General Chapter of the Salesian Congregation of which he was part last year.

The participants widely appreciated the clarity, closeness and deep mastery of the topic demonstrated by the expositor, highlighting his ability to communicate complex contents through a simple, accessible and deeply Salesian language.

Also, the space for dialogue, the responses to the consultations of the attendees and the emphasis placed on the return to the sources of the Salesian charism and Don Bosco’s Preventive System were especially appreciated.

The attendees noted a positive reception for this formative initiative, considered a necessary instance to deepen the Salesian identity, strengthen the knowledge of the current challenges of the Congregation and renew the commitment to the shared mission between Salesians and laity.

This meeting inaugurated a cycle of four formative days that will seek to deepen and update elements specific to the joint work between religious and lay Salesians in favor of renewing pastoral action as educators-pastors in each of our mission areas and from our particular vocations and common charism.

The next session will be held on Tuesday, July 28 at 7:00 p.m. and will be dedicated to the teaching of Pope Leo XIV.
